Still 100% Flying Spur
With Bentley committing to going EV-only by 2030, it figures that they’d start with a Flying Spur as their first plug-in electric car (it follows a hybrid Bentayga SUV). While not fully electric, the Flying Spur Hybrid does get a plug-in cord to charge its EV battery, which takes 2-plus hours to fill up. The hybrid Flying Spur’s electric driving range is estimated to be at or around 25 miles, which is just enough for a quick round-trip jaunt to Miami Beach from Aventura. (Hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and the total gas-electric range will still exceed 400 miles.)
Its new 100kW electric motor and EV setup doesn’t subtract or detract from any of the splendid Flying Spur V8 attractiveness we’ve grown to adore, either. Aside from a “Hybrid” badge and a few little flourishes here and there, this hybrid Flying Spur has the same great Bentley flavor, at a fraction of the CO2 emissions.

Exceptional Powertrain
With a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 engine, the Flying Spur Hybrid can push its speedometer up to 177 mph. All that oomph comes from its 410-horsepower output and a heady 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Paired with the 134-hp electric motor, that V6 makes up to 536 hp total and a ridiculous 552 lb-ft of torque. The result is a blistering 4.1-second zero-to-sixty time.
Special Drive Modes
In addition to an EV mode, the hybrid Bentley Flying Spur blends electric and gasoline together through its Hybrid and Hold modes.
In Hybrid mode, the new Flying Spur maximizes driving range by utilizing several systems to reduce fuel consumption. Bentley’s innovative Predictive E-Mode prioritizes engine coasting by assessing GPS navigation and changing engine behavior. When the vehicle gets closer to your final destination, its on-board battery charge will be fully used to reduce gas consumption.
When it’s not needed, the electric charge will be stored in Hold mode, allowing it to be used for urban driving later. Conserving energy in spurts can be one of the most effective ways to extend an EV battery’s lifespan.
Connected Car Services
Engineers of the new Flying Spur, taking takes cues from some of the best hybrid cars and electric vehicles in the world, have incorporated several apps and services into the Bentley hybrid.
Making Bentley ownership even easier is the MyBentley App. You can remotely check how much battery charge your Flying Spur Hybrid has left, access driving stats, control the cabin’s climate settings, and set programs to operate on an ITTT (If This, Then That) basis. For instance, program the Flying Spur Hybrid to charge up to full an hour before you take a trip.
In true Bentley fashion, rear passengers can even set their own personal climate settings via a Rear Cabin Touch Screen Remote display.
Energy Flow
From the car’s luxurious 12.3-inch infotainment screen, easily monitor how your Bentley plug-in Flying Spur is handling things. You can check statistics, preset charging times (see above), and overall energy flow. In fact, the touchscreen is completely customizable, allowing you to set main display views, change graphics, and adjust what you see and where you see it.
Additionally, you can view “e-motion information,” like range and battery level, from the instrumentation cluster, center screen, or heads-up display.
Hybrid Badging
