Moreover, the Flying Spur V8 can shut down four of its eight cylinders under light-load conditions below 3500 rpm to maximize fuel efficiency by up to 16 percent. Cylinder deactivation and reactivation occurs literally in the blink of an eye. Or rather, a tenth of a time it takes to blink your eyes (about 20 milliseconds). In other words, it's imperceptible.
