Bentley HoodYour beautiful, hand-crafted Bentley isn’t just a joy to drive and a wonder to behold; it’s also a significant investment. This meticulously engineered automotive thoroughbred demands a higher standard of care than most other vehicles. That’s why, when it comes to luxury car service, our Miami Bentley service center is committed to helping you keep your prized possession in top condition—so you can enjoy it for years to come.

We consulted our factory-trained Bentley Miami specialists to compile the following 10 tips and tricks to help you fully enjoy the unparalleled experience of owning one of the world’s best cars.

1. Download the Bentley Network App

Did you know that you can access a wealth of Bentley information and exclusive features from your smartphone? Download the Bentley Network app, register, and access the world of Bentley’s digital content and services.

2. Know Your Owner’s Manual

Your Bentley Owner’s Manual is a cornucopia of important information about how to properly maintain your Bentley. In it, you’ll find recommended service intervals and other maintenance milestones. It’s as good as gold if you care about your car.

Depending on your model, you may even be able to interactively view your Bentley Owner’s Manual right on your Bentley Network app.

3. Oil Changes Are Mission-Critical

Oil ChangesAny Miami Bentley mechanic will tell you that one of the most important things you can do to prolong the life of your Bentley is to change the oil regularly. What’s “regularly” with a Bentley?

Back in the day, the rule of thumb was to change your oil about every 3,000 miles. But with new synthetics and improved engine technologies, you may be able to go longer between oil changes.

However, these are just guidelines. Because every Bentley is unique, consult your Owner’s Manual for the correct oil change intervals and then follow that service guidance religiously.

If you have any questions, please contact our Bentley service experts. We will be happy to give you an estimated Bentley oil change cost and assist you with scheduling Bentley service in Miami.

4. Regularly Check Engine Fluids

While we covered the importance of changing your oil in the previous tip, you shouldn’t overlook maintaining other critical engine fluids. Specifically, we’re referring to brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, engine coolant, and even windshield washer fluid.

If you like to get under the hood of your Bentley, you can easily check the levels of these fluids by looking at the see-through reservoirs for each. Consult your Owner’s Manual on how to specifically do this.

Or you can take your vehicle to our Miami Bentley Service Department, and we’ll be happy to check and top off all the fluid levels for you.

5. Check Tire Pressure

Tire Pressure Check

Bentleys are prized for their supremely quiet, surefooted, and confident ride. To keep your Bentley’s ride as smooth as glass, it’s important to properly maintain your tires. The first step is to check the tire pressure.

Your Bentley has an onboard Tire Pressure Management System (TPMS) that will alert you if the air pressure in any of your tires is below where it should be. You can check the tire pressure yourself by referring to the sticker on the inside of the driver’s side door for the correct PSI. (Or take it to our luxury car service center near you for a PSI check-up and refill.)

Pro Tip: Be sure that your spare tire is properly inflated, as well.

6. Rotate Tires

As a rule of thumb, you should generally rotate your tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. But this is just a broad guideline for typical cars, and Bentleys (and UHP, supercar tires in general) are anything but typical.

How often rotate your Bentley’s tires depends a lot on your driving habits. If you drive your Bentley every day, then you’ll need to rotate your tires more frequently. If you drive your Bentley less frequently, then you may not need to rotate them as often. Again, consult your Bentley Owner’s Manual for recommended tire rotation intervals.

Pro Tip: Did you know that tire-rotation patterns are different for Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), and All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) vehicles? Unless you’re planning on rotating your tires yourself, you don’t need to know the specifics. However, if you’re interested, feel free to discuss this with one of our factory-trained Bentley mechanics here at Braman Bentley.

7. Replace the Air and Cabin Filter

Your Bentley’s air filter is its first line of defense from getting harmful, dust, dirt, and fine particles into its engine where they can wear down and damage moving parts. If you notice sluggish acceleration, a drop in fuel economy, or your check engine light coming on, it may be due to a heavily clogged air filter.

Usually, you should change your air filter around every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. As with your tires, this all depends on how much your drive your Bentley. Consult your Owner’s Manual for how often you should change your air filter and for instructions on how to change it yourself.

Pro Tip: Don’t overlook your cabin air filter. If you notice that your Bentley’s sumptuous cabin is smelling a bit musty, have our Bentley service experts check to see if your cabin air filter needs replacing.

8. Check Those Belts

Engine Belts

Each Bentley engine is a unique engineering masterpiece, crafted to the most exacting tolerances. Timing belts and serpentine belts are two critical components of your Bentley’s engine that, over time, will eventually wear out. The good news is that these are both built to last a very long time.

The timing belt works to synchronize the camshaft and crankshaft, which operate the pistons and valves. The serpentine belt is a long winding belt that wraps around the alternator, air conditioning compressor, and the power-steering pump. Bentley recommends replacing both the timing belt and serpentine belt around 100,000+ miles. Of course, how often your drive your Bentley will affect this.

Your Braman Bentley service technician will be happy to periodically inspect the serpentine belt for any signs of wear. As for the timing belt, take your Bentley to our dealership right away if you notice anything unusual, such as a ticking noise coming from the engine, the engine misfires, the check engine light comes on, or you notice any oil leaks in front of the engine. Consult your Owner’s Manual for more information.

9. Pamper Your Bentley’s Exterior

It’s a given that your Bentley will get admiring looks no matter where you drive it here in Miami. Maintaining your Bentley’s exterior luster comes down to a maintenance routine that includes regular washes and using waxes specifically formulated for luxury car finishes.

You can have your Bentley professionally detailed regularly, take it to Braman Bentley where we’ll give it the VIP treatment, or you can roll up your sleeves and wash and wax it yourself. (Do avoid using any power buffers or wax applicators that could damage the finish.) If you do, consult your Owner’s Manual, or contact our service department for specific instructions. In the long run, keeping your Bentley’s exterior clean and free of damaging sap and bird droppings will maintain its showroom finish for years to come.

Pro Tip: Avoid the damaging rays of South Florida’s summer sun by keeping your Bentley garaged or covered.

10. Maintain Your Bentley’s Interior

Bentley’s Interior

Your Bentley’s interior is a rolling oasis of unparalleled luxury and refinement, painstakingly crafted from the most premium materials. In between having your Bentley’s interior detailed by a professional, you should vacuum out the interior at least once every other week to eliminate dust and odors.

To maintain your leather seats, use a microfiber cloth or soft brush to gently clean leather surfaces. Then use the microfiber cloth to work a quality leather conditioner (check to see which ones are best for your Bentley) into the leather to maintain its supple appearance. Avoid using everyday household cleaning agents or anything alcohol-based which can damage the leather.
